Pap Smear
Is a simple procedure in which a tiny cell sample, removed from
your cervix during your pelvic exam, is examined under a microscope
for abnormal cells.
Ultrasound
This test creates an image of the fetus from soundwaves.
Endometrial
biopsy
Is the removal of a sample of endometrial tissue from your uterus
so that it can be examined for abnormal cells.
D&C
(dilation and curettage)
Is the partial removal of the endometrial lining or placental
tissue from your uterus so that it can be examined for bnormalities.
Laparoscopy, In which a thin, lighted tube (laparoscope) is inserted through a tiny incision in your abdomen, allows your doctor to examine your reproductive organs to diagnose endometriosis and other abnormalities.
During this procedure tubal ligation or removal of small cysts of the ovaries can be done.
